Standards & Designations
- Order as 347 under the governing product standard
State the selected designation, complete product standard, edition and purchaser specification in the RFQ and purchase description. Similar grade names are not automatically interchangeable.
Chemical Composition
347 uses niobium stabilization. Compare with titanium-stabilized 321 for sensitization-sensitive welded service and with 347H for controlled higher-carbon hot-load requirements.

Mechanical Properties
Stabilization addresses sensitization; it is not a mechanical-strength or maximum-temperature rating. For sustained load, compare creep data for the ordered condition.

High-Temperature Characteristics
Ti or Nb stabilization helps address sensitization in welded or elevated-temperature service. Gas chemistry, corrosion and load still determine suitability.

Share the drawing, delivery condition, forming method, joint design, filler requirements, WPS/PQR, heat input, cleaning or passivation and NDT scope. Drawing geometry and the ordered standard help the fabricator prepare the process plan and qualified procedure.

Inspection Options
- MTC identifying the heat, grade, ordered standard and reported test results.
- Dimensional, surface, traceability and marking records specified by the purchase order.
- NDT, PMI, third-party inspection or additional test reports only when ordered.
- EN 10204 3.1 wording only when the issued certificate explicitly carries that type.
