State the selected designation, complete product standard, edition and purchaser specification in the RFQ and purchase description. Similar grade names are not automatically interchangeable.

Chemical Composition

444 is a molybdenum-containing stabilized ferritic grade. Compare it with 441 for wet-corrosion demands and with 316Ti for heat-transfer equipment; neither comparison authorizes universal chloride-service substitution.

Mechanical Properties

Specify delivery condition and forming requirements for the component. Ferritic grades do not share the elevated-temperature load behavior of austenitic furnace grades.

Physical Properties

Ferritic material is magnetic and generally expands less than austenitic stainless steel. Geometry and joining details still need expansion allowance.

High-Temperature Characteristics

Match the grade to exhaust or wet-corrosion conditions rather than selecting by a furnace temperature alone. Weld condition and condensate chemistry can be decisive.

Available Dimensions

We quote dimensions and tolerances for your selected form and quantity; there is no single stock-size range covering every grade and form.

Processing & Welding

Share the drawing, delivery condition, forming method, joint design, filler requirements, WPS/PQR, heat input, cleaning or passivation and NDT scope. Drawing geometry and the ordered standard help the fabricator prepare the process plan and qualified procedure.

Industry Applications

Consider exhaust components, fume ducts and heat-transfer equipment, with grade selection based on dry gas or wet-condensate exposure.

Inspection Options

  • MTC identifying the heat, grade, ordered standard and reported test results.
  • Dimensional, surface, traceability and marking records specified by the purchase order.
  • NDT, PMI, third-party inspection or additional test reports only when ordered.
  • EN 10204 3.1 wording only when the issued certificate explicitly carries that type.

Related Grades

Compare grade families, product forms and service inputs before requesting an alternative. Any substitution must follow the governing standard, design basis and project approval process.

What to Send for a Quote

Include the exact grade designation, governing product standard and edition, product form, dimensions, condition, quantity, service inputs, inspection scope, certificate type, packing and destination.
